The Project
The 345kV Substation and Transmission Project-BLC, spanning multiple locations across New Jersey, is a critical project designed to strengthen regional power delivery through advanced infrastructure upgrades. Our team provided comprehensive, multidisciplinary support, including site remediation, environmental health and safety oversight, and proactive public outreach to ensure effective stakeholder engagement. We also managed permitting and regulatory compliance monitoring to maintain adherence to all standards, while delivering program management services that kept the project on schedule and aligned with strategic objectives.
A key highlight of the project was the installation of both underground and overhead transmission lines, complemented by a complex Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) under Newark Bay. This engineering feat involved drilling from both the Elizabeth and Bayonne sides to connect beneath the bay, enabling transmission to flow from Linden through Bayonne and ultimately to the Bergen Generating Station. The massive pipes emerging from the ground—captured in the project photos—illustrate the scale and precision of this operation.
