ST. JOHN’S, Newfoundland and Labrador | Published via BUSINESS WIRE
Sikumiut Environmental Management Limited (“SEM”), a multidisciplinary environmental and technical services firm serving mining, utility, and energy clients across Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced that it has joined True Environmental, Inc. (“True”), a platform focused on collaborating with founder and employee-owned environmental consulting and engineering firms to provide capital and management support solutions to accelerate growth and facilitate seamless ownership transitions. The union further enhances True’s mission of building a best-in-class environmental consulting and engineering platform.
Founded in 2002 and headquartered in St. John’s, SEM provides environmental consulting, geomatics and GIS, digital solutions, stakeholder engagement, and technical staffing services. Together with Ensero Solutions, True’s Canadian mining- and water-focused company operating in Western and Northern Canada, SEM extends True’s platform into Atlantic Canada — creating a coast-to-coast Canadian presence serving mining, energy, utility, federal, and industrial clients.
SEM President, Grant Vivian, expressed his enthusiasm for the company’s partnership with True Environmental, stating, “Joining True Environmental marks an exciting new chapter for our firm. This partnership is an investment in our people and in the future of what we can deliver for our clients. Through True’s platform, we gain access to expanded resources, broader capabilities, and a network of like-minded firms — without sacrificing the culture, community relationships, and client focus that define us.”
Jim Stamatis, CEO of True Environmental, said, “SEM is exactly the kind of firm we seek to partner with. Grant, Stefan Cahill, Stephen Rowe, and the entire SEM team have built something remarkable — a technically strong, client-centered organization with deep roots in Newfoundland and Labrador, long-standing client relationships, and a genuine commitment to their people and their communities. Alongside Ensero, SEM gives True a true coast-to-coast Canadian platform, and we look forward to growing together.”
