The Project
True provided engineering services for the reconstruction of the Dyckman Marina and associated waterfront structures. True performed a coastal analysis to develop the environmental design criteria and performed a comprehensive geotechnical investigation consisting of land and water borings to develop the soil parameters. Using the results of the coastal and geotechnical work, True’s engineers designed a new marina and fishing pier, developed a rehabilitation program for the bulkhead at pier at the Inwood Canoe Club to the south, and prepared the shore protection details for the new shorefront park at the north end of the site (by Stantec). To coordinate the structural design of the pier with the new electrical systema and topside appurtenances, True developed a BIM model of the pier and utilized the model to prepare the construction documents for the steel and concrete elements (including all reinforcing). In addition, True prepared cost estimates for all waterfront work on the project as well as permit sketches and quantities of impact.
