The Project
True was responsible for providing a wide array of services for the Marine Parkway Gil Hodges Bridge Tower Landing Replacements project, which included replacement of tower elevators and miscellaneous rehabilitation work. True conducted all environmental and permitting services required, as well as civil engineering and maintenance and protection of traffic services.
Structural engineering services were also required for the project, including replacement of steel floor grating (which included sheave rooms, elevator landings, and extension of landings), and elevator “skeleton” (bottom of elevator to top), as well as the replacement of span lock access stairs and access platform, replacement and increasing the size of the access hatch in front of the elevator at the top level (one at each tower), providing movable stairs over the two middle trunnion bearings, evaluating integrity of the support framing and providing design for repairs, and evaluating existing field conditions to ensure constructability.
