The Project

True Environmental is currently providing environmental support services to the CSLC for the Platform Holly Decommissioning Project.  This project currently includes the characterization of baseline conditions on the Platform and associated facilities, including pipelines, power cables, and two seep tents.  True teamed with the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and Aqueos Corporation to complete focused scientific self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (SCUBA) and ROV surveys of the fish and invertebrate communities on the Platform, associated facilities, and reference reef sites. The team has also peer reviewed the Net Environmental Benefit Analysis (NEBA) for the Platform Decommissioning alternatives.  In addition to biological surveys, True geologists have completed sediment sampling around the platform seafloor to assess potential impacts from residual drilling materials discharged during the platform’s early operations.  These samples, along with a planned mussel bag assessment, will help the CSLC determine the final disposition of these materials during the larger platform decommissioning process.

The team is contracted to prepare the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR), which is scheduled to begin in 2026
