The Project
True has completed (Phase 1) and is continuing (Phase 2) of the Second Avenue Subway Project to provide environmental services, including field investigation work, data management, permitting assistance, geotechnical-environmental-related design, report preparation, quality assurance (QA) and construction management services during the preliminary engineering, final engineering and construction phases of the overall expansion project.
Field services provided by True include hazardous materials investigations to evaluate the presence of soil and groundwater contamination during the advancement of geotechnical and environmental borings being conducted over the length of the project area. True also performs Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and hazardous materials surveys (including asbestos, lead-based paint and other hazardous materials) on properties expected to be impacted by the project. Based on these hazardous materials surveys, True prepared detailed plans and specifications in accordance with NYCT requirements for the abatement of asbestos containing materials. True is also providing periodic construction management services during abatement activities.
