Rehabilitation of a waterfront property in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The Project
The Steelpointe Harbor redevelopment in Bridgeport, CT transforms a former United Illuminating electrical generating plant and surrounding underutilized waterfront properties into a vibrant mixed-use destination. The proposed development features high-rise office towers, retail, entertainment venues, and residential units, all centered around a maritime theme. Key elements include high-speed ferry access, a marina complex, a public access boulevard, and amenities designed to encourage community interaction with the waterfront.
True Environmental is part of a multidisciplinary team providing expertise in coastal planning, resource evaluations, and regulatory permitting for this ambitious project. The scope includes bulkheading, coastal fill, construction of piers and docks, dredging, and other waterfront activities. True has led environmental remediation, stormwater permitting, and inspection services, successfully remediating over 6,000 cubic yards of PCB-impacted soil. Additionally, the team delivered civil engineering services for hotel development, with new residential units and a hotel currently under construction—marking significant progress toward revitalizing the waterfront.
